Breathe and be gentle with yourself.
Yoga can teach us effective ways to ease our bodies and our minds.

Hello! I’m Dorothy.

I was born in the United States, but didn’t stay for long. I grew up living all over the world, moving from country to country every 4 years or so. That experience contributed to my understanding that we are all interconnected on this earth. It also gave me the opportunity to become bilingual in Spanish and English. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, and a Masters of Science in Family and Child Studies. Previously, I worked as a Certified Child Life Specialist in a Level I Trauma Facility, providing psychosocial support to children and their families. I also taught yoga part time.

I have now settled in beautiful Antigua Guatemala with my partner and 5 rescued pets (2 dogs and 3 cats!). I am excited to be offering yoga and child life services in private practice.

Yoga Classes

Yoga is where I learned to take time out for myself and began cultivating a mind/body connection. Through heartache, hardship, and physical injury, yoga has been a tool that keeps me grounded. I love sharing the healing practice of yoga because I can teach others how to create a sacred space for themselves. My offerings are accessible to every body, and every age group.

Yoga has been a valuable tool in my role as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS). With proper guidance, yoga can be adapted and enjoyed by all bodies and abilities. Yoga can teach us effective ways to ease our bodies and our minds. Anyone struggling with chronic illness and/or grief and loss can benefit from both child life services and the practice of yoga.
